The Hamiltonian
H = J ∑⟨ij⟩ σi·σj + Jd ∑dimers σi·σj
Shastry-Sutherland lattice: a square lattice of bonds J with one diagonal bond Jd in every second plaquette, the orthogonal dimers. J = 0.7, Jd = 1, the couplings of the spin-1/2 form with S = σ/2, normalised to Jd = 1 (RULES.md 2.1); written here with Pauli matrices, so E/N in S units is E/(4N).

Stored as a total energy; quoted here as
E/N (S.S), which is what the papers report
(how the conversion works).
Every published energy
Grouped by what the number is. The exact energy comes first where there is one; in every other group the lowest unflagged energy is its best value, and each row's distance is to that best (rules §6).
Strict variational upper bounds (1)
Energies that a variational state reached (VMC, DMRG and MPS at finite bond dimension, PEPS, NQS, VQE). Each is an upper bound on the ground-state energy.

Table VI, case (vi); version read: arXiv text (sources/2503.20122.txt); the journal version was not reached from this session, to be read on the verification pass (RULES.md 8); Some Table VI cases reuse the parameters of case (i) with one parameter changed and are not optimised; the fermion boundary sector of each case is not stated. | Eq. (1) H = J1 sum S.S (square bonds) + J2 sum S.S (diagonal dimer bonds) - Jr sum Q_r, Table VI caption 'J1/J2 = 0.7, Jr = 0', 12 x 12 sites by default; per site in units of J2, read from Table I's 'Energy per site' for the same method and the dimer energy -3/8 beside them (Table VI does not print the unit).
